Is the battery life this short even when using hybrid graphics mode (optimus)?

With my 7510 and hybrid graphics on I can get about five hours out of it if I am careful (no big tasks running). Might be able to squeeze it a little further by taking steps like turning the screen brightness all the way down. 7710/7720 should be similar, but a little worse as the larger screen will use a bit more power. If you want all day battery, this is not the machine to get.

Question here; snipped a deal on ebay on a 7720, i'm not a user of anything graphic intensive but liked the 7720's layout for desktop replacement, ruggedness and other features.

It's ok, but i hate the screen. I got a lower end config with i5, and 1600X900 screen.

My question is, can i replace the screen on this with the UHD version ? I bought 2 things,

    Screen : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=372032005856

    Cable : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=162654601589

Will these 2 work using the integrated intel card or i need to add a MXM card as well ?

    Thanks, Vincent.

There are no displays that require a discrete GPU with the 7720.

    Hello,

I have a questions to owners, did any of you use a Thunderbolt 3 external GPU solution on these machines ?
    Any returns ?
    Thanks !

I'm also interested in this. I'm wondering if the FirePro would work with an external GeForce GPU. This setup works with my MBP+Radeon 560+Bootcamp+eGPU 980ti

    Check this page:

    https://egpu.io/gsearch/

Then try typing search for 7710 or 7720

There they have bunch of feedback from people regarding external gpu using m.2 pcie cables or thunderbolt enclosures. etc. I used that website when doing eGPU for my m6500 and was a great help. Particularly admin Nando4 over there is great help.

Did anyone get 7520 with i5-7300HQ/i5-7440HQ CPU and could tell me about temperatures? Also does CPU throttle alot? It seems that this laptop has dual-fan solution that should keep CPU cooled down but then it's quite high TDP.
