On the Lenovo side of things, they just announced their new P-Series: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo...tion-line-with-P71-P51-and-P51s.195596.0.html

As a current owner of the last gen ThinkPad P50, it annoys me to no end that Nvidia managed to screw up the Quadro release and make half of them Maxwell based. Its especially stupid that they didn´t release the Quadro P2000, which would have been based on the GeForce 1050. I can see why they would release the lower end Quadros based on Maxwell yet again, because GeForce 1030/1040 are not out yet (if they ever come), but the GeForce 1050 is already out! Such a stupid decision...I am sure you here in the Dell camp would agree with that.

I sometimes wish AMD would be a more potent competitor. Nvidia is so lazy...

Awesome. At least on the high end (P51/P71), it looks to be the same strategy as Dell this time around: Pretty much the same system as before, except with the new CPU/GPU options. (I'm not familiar with the "s" series so I can't tell at a glance if there is any significant change there.)

Can't tell from the angle if the optical drive is still present? Looks like it is thick enough to have it in there still.

Yep, still has one, as seen on this picture from the side: http://i.imgur.com/zMDdKYz.jpg

The P51s is pretty much the same as the regular T570, except with the low end Quadro M520. Its a competitor to the HP ZBook 15u...Lenovo still lacks a competitor to the Precision 5520, though I heard they are considering the upcoming ULV-Quad-Core-CPUs for the P51s.

Hmm, I never had a Lenovo workstation, but I really dislike the bland design of the newer Dell 77X0 Precisions (reminds me of the HP 8770w, but noticeably less pretty) so if I decide to upgrade my trusty M6700, I might go for the P71 (like that they kept the boxy design) if the external graphics work well enough on it over the TB3.

Lenovo? Ugh, no thanks. Their warranties suck compared to the DELL precision mobile workstation warranty. If your Lenovo blanks you'll be shipping and waiting for weeks for any resolutions. Not to mention that the military/DOD is going to be banning the ownership and use of Lenovo products due to Chinese government spying apps.

"dod lenovo" gives some results in google and bing search engines. most returned by search are dated around April-Oct 2016 but some reports go back to 2013 and earlier.

Hi, sorry for the dumb question.
Do you think it will be possible to buy the new 7520 with a keyboard without the numeric keypad?
    Thanks
