Pretty sure you choose which card to use, out of the 3 (Intel I gpu, nvidia m5000m, or thunderbolt I'm this hypothetical case). It would fall into a different aspect vs like an sli.

I want to encourage you to purchase a Razor Core and a 1080 or 1070 so we can find out the answer. :) As far as I know, none of us have tried it to know if an external Nvidia (or AMD) works as we hypothesise.

    So, I got my 7710 today. I7 6820hq 32gb ram, 256ssd 1tb hhd m3000m uhd win7

Several reboots from windiws updates program install and driver install. The whole time, according to task manager and hw info, this i7 has 2 cores with 1 thread a piece.!

    Anyone know what's going on?

I've checked all power bios etc and everything looks legit. No ideas left here.

Figured it out. So dell's precision software which automatically configures performance for special programs. Such as Autocad and Adobe products, but when not using those it'd set to run 1 or 2 cores but higher frequencies. Set this to dell system default. Which then brought me to 4 cores with 1 thread a piece. So next was bios to enable hyper threading. Which mind boggling why this wouldn't be set by default. Why would one spend 3 grand to want their laptop to run stock at 2 cores without hyperthreading is beyond me. But it's good.

Other notes is seems fan runs all the time, slow, but it never truly shuts off. As always windows 7 and uhd is a pain, Windows 10 1000x better with uhd. No back lite keyboard configured/ordered, why work why!!!
951 ssd is soo slow, 950pro and x400 definitely swapped in first thing. Awesome, is dell provided screws to hold down both m.2 locations. And there is a metal plate that goes over the top. For protection and I'm also thinking it would help with cooling, good job on this.
USB drivers took alot of work. Wouldn't read an external wd passport, yried this tried that, finally found the right driver on dell's site, which turned out to be the same one/version I had, but Uninstalled and reinstalled and now works fine.

I'll be doing a more in depth review, but quick notes on it.

For those with the AMD card are you using the DELL AMD drivers or have you updated using the AMD website drivers?

Xeon® E3-1545M v5 and Xeon® E3-1575M CPU options showed up on the 7710 store page. Still no sign of the nVidia M5500M. I wonder if it will show up at all with GTX 1070/1080 for mobile right around the corner.

New Bios for the 7510/7710. One note on this one is it states you cannot downgrade from this one. I know that helped some with the issue with the video after previous bios upgrades.

    Important:
    - Not suggested/allowed to downgrade BIOS to the version before 1.05.04.
