Yes I do have power going in all directions (although when I first started, I thought that the dock would power the computer).

What do you mean the minority? Are there many reports of it not working?

I do have the Thunderbolt software running, but never did any authorization on the dock...how do you do that?

I think a box popped up asking to do so.

I'm thinking of buying the 7710 and I'm interested in the keyboard feel. I like keyboards with good travel depth and moderate resistance. My 2010 Toshiba Tecra A10 has a great, great keyboard. More recently, I tried a Lenovo Thinkpad and it was pretty good too, although a little less travel depth than the Toshiba. The consumer Lenovos are not as good. The HP Envy was terrible (light force leading to accidental key presses, shallow travel leading to poor feedback). I have found many reviews saying the 7710 keyboard is "good" but they don't give any comparisons so I'm not sure what their idea of "good" is. Can someone comment?

I just hooked up a replacement TB15 and it did not ask me to authorize. However, in the bios, I previously made a setting change I think to no security (I do not remember exactly) and maybe that is why i did not get a pop up this time. I am pretty sure I did when I first set this up and had the bios at defaults. Also, in the TB software, if you right click the icon in the tray, it has options to approve attached devices and manage devices. Mine are grayed out - possibly because I change the security in the bios.

After spending 1 hour with support, Dell is going to replace my dock, as it seems it's broken...:(

    Thanks for your answers.

I switched from a precision m6700 to a 7710. it took a little adjustment to the 7710 keyboard but now i think it's good. it's better than the keyboard on a latitude and vostro laptop. it may even be slightly better than the old 6700

I agree completely. Took about a week to get used to it, but when I have to go back and work on the M6700, I miss the 7710 keyboard. Definitely a step forward on the new system.

There are many reports of serious issues with the TB15 dock. Just go to Dells USA website and look at every review, about 15 in total, all giving the dock 1 star. I've read other people saying they've received replacement docks and they have the same issues on the replacement dock.

My TB15 dock isn't perfect either. Dell needs to make some serious improvements with firmware updates.

Does anyone know if there is a Win 7 recovery/reinstall disc for those of us that had Win 7 preinstalled?
