Thanks for your reply, and did you made any bios updates? Like programing with an m5000m bios??? Also the m6 have two modes the computer mode and graphic mode how did you manage to change them? I know it's using an Nvidia tool gpumodeswitch but because my zbook won't detect the card then I can't change. How did you have this change on yours? Regards

Hi.I did not flashed the bios.
But I do have an EDP motherboard.I guess you will have to try.It may work straight in taking into consideration that most M6 cards that I know of are from HP.
    Regards.

I gtx 980m in my precision... but the .ini mods failed to let me install the drivers, and it refuses to show up in device manager. Anyone know what the cause could be?

I managed to get a Quadro P5000 installed into my M6800. Got the inf modded and driver signed, only issue is that games that use EasyAntiCheat don't work (Such as Halo MCC, Rust and Fortnite) because they notice the modded inf is modified. Also Halo 5 Forge does not work either which is a bummer unless there's some sort of hack we can do get native drivers without modding.

If I remember correctly it's because you didn't enabled back testsigning mode off or something like that

I have testsigning off as I managed to sign my own drivers. The thing is that EasyAntiCheat notices the modified inf file so there isn't much that can be done at the moment to play EasyAntiCheat enabled games.

To install the driver for the GTX980M on your M6800 you have to edit do these steps:

1: Download the latest full driver from Nvidia. (Select the GTX980, not 980m to get the full driver pack)

    2. Unzip the .exe file with 7zip for example.

    3. Edit the nvcvi.inf in the Display.Driver-folder.
a: Download GPU-Z to get the correct device-ID for your unit. (I hope this works with the driver not installed, it can be found in the regeditor otherwise)

b: Edit the file, first to tell the driver what settings to use, under "[NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0...17098]" (This can change in the future with new Windows versions)
This is how mine look with the device ID in GPU-Z reporting "10DE 1617 - 1028 15CD"
    %NVIDIA_DEV.1617.15CD.1028% = Section032, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1617&SUBSYS_15CD1028
The "Section032" part is whats working for me, 002 works (It has to have "NvSupportMSHybrid = 1") just as good with the difference being that 032 disable edid warnings as i understands it?

c: Edit the file on the last place to make it identify the card correctly, under "[Strings]" at about row 15000 add your card.

This is how mine look with the device ID in GPU-Z reporting "10DE 1617 - 1028 15CD"
    NVIDIA_DEV.1617.15CD.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
    4. Hold shift while selecting reboot to be able to restart with additional settings to be able to boot with driver signing requirement disabled.

    5. Install using the unziped folder and setup.exe, make sure to press "Install anyway" when it's asking about the driver not being signed.

Hope this helps if anyone of you are having problems!

I'm pretty sure there's a Max-Q VBIOS out there that we can make use of since using the ES VBIOS still causes power&thermal throttling problems which will bring the cpu clock down to 0.75 GHz.

The quickest way to do the mod is to only edit the right side of the line you have listed in the "b" section only (underlined below). If you leave the left side alone, then you do not have to mess with the strings section at all. (The stuff inside of the % symbols is just a variable name and it doesn't actually matter if it matches your card hardware ID or not.)

    %NVIDIA_DEV.1617.15CD.1028% = Section032, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1617&SUBSYS_15CD1028

You can also sign the modified driver and then avoid having to mess with the boot configuration at all.

That's what I ended up doing with mine, when I first modded the drivers the clocks were at full speed which contributed to terrible battery life, now it's much better.
