Anyone know where I can source a new Latitude X1 motherboard? After 5 years, it turns out that the DDR2 memory module connector is faulty and has failed and the machine no longer works with a memory module installed.

Thanks. Please reply directly if desired.

I recently bought a X1 (used) on ebay.com for ~180$. You could just buy one and use the mobo.

Set your router to "802.11g only" mode, not 802.11n or 802.11gn compatibility mode (if such setting doesn't exist on router, set max speed to 54 Mbps)
    Worked with my Netgear router.
    WPA2 should not cause problems.

This is a repost from my last message
I lost 250$, my objective is to avoid others to experience the same situation
Again, no personal attacks, no hard words

Since that time, sunairport has been banned from the forum and post #267 is not available anymore.

I have been trying to find a hard drive for my X1. The drive connection confuses me. I have a zif to 44 pin connection for the drive and cannot find a suitable hard drive. If you could tell me how to connect a hard drive to the hard drive connection of the motherboard, I would so much appreciate it.
    Thanks, Tom

Hello this forum is great for helpful info on the Dell Latitude x1. I have bought and sold many of them from Ebay to friends and referral customers, all are very happy with their little x1. I once obtained several sets of rubber feet, part# RC731 directly from Dell while one of my x1's was still under warranty. I have finally ran out of these feet and am looking for more at a decent price, maybe 5 sets. I found this site to sell them but at $19.95 per set, kind of expensive: RC731 Rubber Foot X1 (Incl. 5 Pc. Nc325 & 2 Pc. Rc851) for Dell Latitude X1

I bought some on ebay a while back from a UK seller, but they were not the nice 3M brand, they did not stick, I had to glue them on, and they were slightly thinner rubber but still worked ok. I prefer the 3M brand if I can find them. Thanks for helping!
