On this forum site (forum.notebookreview.com), readers need to register an account and log-in before they can see more expensive (to transmit) features like images attached to messages.

On Dell's site, it looks like shoppers may need to register/request a (business) account and log-in before they can configure the expensive (to stock) options or combinations. (See also the Does this config exist discussion.)

My premier access through uni only gives mostly consumer options w/ discounts of ~$30-40. There are a few business class machines, but they're all last gen or older. Some of them have a few more config options, but a majority of them are still locked. Maybe it varies from account to account... I wonder why my premiere account sucks lol

Tried playing Borderlands 2 with multi locked at 22x. cpu temps didn't go over 81C but still throttled me down 88%! game became unplayable after ~15mins.

I've about had it with this machine... I get more and more mad as I start using it... I'm working on some algorithms using MATLAB and I'm literally running my code with the machine side ways so it can breathe... I'm seriously going to push for a refund of my purchase price if they can't do anything else for me... I'll switch back to a Mac in a heat beat...

No joke... I'm running my stuff on a 1.3 Ghz 13" Macbook Air (Haswell) and although my machine beats it out during the first 20 minutes, the 13" Air ends up finishing some of my analysis faster because it can actually take the heat lol... Dell, you disappoint ment

yeah, it's truly unfortunate.. I really hope that I get somewhere with this new guy tomorrow. He was nice enough to email me on Friday, even though he was out of the office. I'd like to get a different model, but based on what I've seen, I'm not sure I can commit to one. If they send me an XPS 15 and I hate it, then what? I highly doubt they'll offer a cash refund seeing as how mine was originally purchased through a business account (paid in cash, no longer associated with that company) and then transferred into my name. They maybe could give me store credit? Or I guess if I don't like the model I get, I'll just sell it and get something else.

Does anyone elses display "shake" when you type on the keyboard or click the touchpad buttons? I never noticed this before tonight, but it looks like I am pressed the left side of the screen in four spots whenever I type - I can only see it on a dark background, which is probably why it hasn't stood out.

I was thinking of buying one of these when I saw the specs...

The first thing I thought of was "how do they keep it from turning into a puddle of melted plastic?"

    Apparently they cant?

My display seems pretty solid. If I'm hastily hammering away at the keys, I suppose i do notice a bit of play though. Not sure what to say about the messed up screen while typing. Maybe that's from all the other times you've poked at your screen :p or maybe your bezel is on too tight and pressing on the screen? idk..

Put it this way: when I play some Civ V without my laptop cooler, I get throttling and temps hit about 90*C. With the cooler I'm getting 70-80 which is more reasonable.

What??? Unisys called, I should be getting my service call today between 2-5pm. I'm going poke this guys brain and get his opinion.

Okay the actual technician just called me. He has almost a 2 hour drive one way! The roads in Michigan are quite bad so we are rescheduling for tomorrow.
