Can someone try running the Dell diagnostics to see if it returns the same error I'm getting after updating to the A12 BIOS Version? I have an E6520 i7 Quad Core. Diagnostics are accessed by pressing F12 during boot up. I'm getting Error Code 2000-0415 Validation 25481 which suggests the LCD cable failed. I'm thinking this is a false positive resulting from the A12 BIOS update. Or maybe Dell improved the diagnostic test coverage and detected a real issue. Any assistance with this matter is much appreciated.

There are faster and more energy efficient 3920xm at Ebay (Ivy Bridge).
Does anyone know if this would run at an E6520?

Don't worry. False alarm. This problem has been occurred since A07 BIOS release. Dell is well informed as far as this bug.

They won't work. Ivy Bridge will require BIOS update, and there won't be one until official release. Not to mention they're $1,5k - you can buy whole E6520 for less than that :p

Any BIOS A06 or above should update to A12 with no issues. Just be patient.

This is common and should be ignored. It has been this way since BIOS A07 I believe.

It seems early reports state mobile chipsets like the popular QM67 will NOT support the new Ivy Bridge processors although many desktop 6x series will...

    We shall see...

I'm thinking of buying the e6520. I have a couple of questions, how is the quality of the 1080p screen? Second, is there a bay for a 2nd hdd, or can you put a second hdd in the dvdrw bay? Thanks!

    Hi Scott,

I found an AKE BC398 Express Card and it has the NEC chipset (uPD720202), could you please advice whether this is the latest chipset and best card available?

    Thank you in advance
