My E6520 is no good :(

    Had it since last July...

Also, don't mind those temps, the CPU is usually idling at 58...

    Isn't 58 degrees quite hot? o_O

The status of my E6520 changed to "shipped" today!! :)

Btw, the battery of my E6400 was worthless after about 1 year of use.
Since then, only lasts for about 5-10 minutes.

Might be related to the fact that I seldom used it, almost always used the laptop
    with external power supply.

Just spoke with Dell. They agreed that was an abnormally high wear rate so they are shipping me a new one - to arrive tomorrow. Yippee! Hopefully this battery will last much longer.

New E6520 BIOS A12 out yesterday.

Note the conflicting information on the above page:

    "Important Information" states it's necessary to upgrade A01 > A02 > [A03, A04, A05, A06, A07, A08] > A08 > A12.

    "Fixes & Enhancements" states A01 > A02 > [A03, A04, A05, A06, A07, A08, A09] > A09 > A12.

However, I searched Dell's web and FTP sites and there is no A09 BIOS. I took a gamble and upgraded from A08 > A12 and it worked fine. Therefore "Important Information" is correct and "Fixes & Enhancements" is wrong.

The upgrade was uncomfortably long, perhaps 15 minutes. The longest part was hanging at 100% after upgrading some Intel management code. After what seemed like an eternity it completed successfully.

When I have time I'll see if my SuperTalent CoreStore MV SSD finally works and I'll post the results.

Where did you find the A08? I have the A07, found the A12, but cannot find the A08.

    Thanks.
