Posting this as it might help someone. I have been able to mix two brands of 4GB memory sticks to up my RAM to 8GB. The system came from dell outlet with 4GB (Samsung). I added a GSkill 4GB (F3-10666CL9-4GBSQ) and so far have had no problems. Ran Prime95 allocating it most of the system memory and it didn't have any errors.

The timings are the same for both sticks 9-9-9-24. Even though the GSkill is sold at PC3-10666, it is just a marketing ploy, runs at the same clock speed as the ones labelled PC3-10600.

Is there any way to set a battery threshold at 40% charge?

I have read on another forum that is not possible for the M4600 and I was wondering about the E6520...

    Thanks

I think it was just my programs for a while.

    Any luck with speedfan ranran?

No help with Speedfan - he asked for my email a long time ago, but haven't heard a thing.

with my i8600 I could play LOTRo (albeit not very smoothly) with speedfan keeping my temps down in the 60o's for the GPU, but with the E6520, it shoots to the upper 70o's which I would really prefer not to happen....

Ah well, good thing I have a hex-core Thuban desktop system to play on, but it's nice to go to bed early sometimes and play there...
