    Intel QM67
    Port 0 and 1 = SATA-III
    Port 2, 3, 4, 5 = SATA-II

I suspect only port 0 is used for SATA-III in the E6520 since there is only one internal HDD bay. However, all the other ports should still offer up to full SATA-II speeds.

Hrrrm... here's another entry into the mini-PCIe SSD from Innodisk. I know nothing about it, however it does indicate an embedded controller and explicitly states that it uses mini-PCIe, not mSATA.....

Port 0 is the hdd bay; port 1 is the optical bay. You can confirm this in BIOS.

Scott, the ODD port is also Sata III, connecting a sata 3 drive using a bay gives you also sata 3 speeds.

    About the CPU upgrade.
Someone here wrote, that when you change your CPU, you could have problems with not enough cooling. Some models with not the most powerfull CPU could have only one heat pipe. So, for the info, i have a i5-2520M CPU and a dedicated NVS4200M and i have two heat pipes and radiators.
Actually, the can be seen through the vent holes on the bottom of the laptop. Not very good, but if you know, how the single- and double- heat pipe mod looks like, you can distinguish them.

The i7-2760QM can handle up to
    32 GB DDR3-1066/1333/1600 Memory
