The Nvidia chip on the Latitude E6410 is not low-end by far. It's a mid-low range GPU.

E6410 has a nice Quadro, it's equivalence is a Geforce 310M (if you install the Geforce drivers instead of the Quadro in gaming performance.). It's a bit faster than the Geforce 9500M GT which that one consumes more power, produces more heat and bigger chip (80nm)

The Intel solution is slower than a Geforce Go 7400.

Do you think this Latitude is a good option vs. a Thinkpad T410?

They are very evenly matched. I recommend you break the tie with the price, looks and with the warranty/support level.

Make sure you call both Dell and Lenovo and ask for a good deal. You can mention that you are unsure between those two models and will go for the best price.

Well, here in Italy Lenovo online shop sucks big time... The do NOT offer any configuration and only provide three or four crappy pre-built configs per model. Plus, the price is insulting vs the USA rates for the same machines. This means you have to buy it from a reseller, which again offers only pre-built configs but with a better price...

Long story short, the Dell is 200 euros less and has slightly better specs, but I'll call Dell on monday to get an even better deal AND an effing backlit keybd.

(Btw, the Dell has 3yrs NBD warranty AND 3 yrs battery warranty )

Earlier in this thread it was confirmed that the E6410 keyboard is the same as on the E6400, so one option is to buy a backlit E6400 keyboard off ebay and install it yourself. They are less expensive than the cost in Dell's configurator (go to the enterprise section and you should find it there).

    Isn't the E6410 lighter than the T410?

it's VERY LOW end; 16SPs are a complete joke to me (i consider the HD5770 to be mid-range) and i'm never going to game on it (i have my main rig with an hd5850 for that purpose which is about 40 times faster

NVS3100 makes use of the lowest end discrete chip in nvidias current lineup and apart from being a 40nm DX10.1 chip with dedicated memory is the same as the 9400 integrated part

it may be 4 times faster than the intel solution but the intel solution is a complete failure when it comes to 3D...

honestly i benchmarked and in confront of my old xps m1530 (t7500, 4gb, 8600gt) the 310m had a better performance, and according to notebookcheck.net they are pretty the same.

Well, all right, I just checked notebookcheck and... the integrated scores are embarassing. I'll definitely go w/ the NVIDIA. I mean, the GMA4500HD is 2X to 3X times slower than the Nvidia 8400gs, which is the GPU I have in the 2.5yrs old laptop I'm selling...

I believe the slot supports the 5 that you mentioned and RS-MMC (reduced size MultiMediaCard) - with adaptor, and possibly SDIO (SD Input/Output), although I'm not sure about the SDIO.
I am quite sure the slot does not support SDXC.
