I'm also very interested in how the new touchpad performs and how it works. After now owning my E6400 for 1,5 years I still absolutely hate the touchpad.

Dezoris, does BIOS have an option that toggles Intel Turbo Boost technology?

Yes you can disable, speedstep, turboboost and choose how many cores you want active.

The touch pad in my opinion is about the same. The gestures work but lets face it the touch pad is so small that doing two finger work is just not that easy. There is pinch to zoom and other scrolling tricks you can do.

The one thing I like is it is very customizable in the touch point software, there is a lot you can do to tweak it how you like it.

Don`t want to annoy you, but do you have some other thougths regarding the display?

Do you see a difference in the blacks? I often read in reviews that the e6400 wxga+ is a little bit „washed out”?

All the panels on the E6410s I have are LG, but the hardware IDs on the 6400s are all different.

Honestly I cannot see any difference between the panels in black level and color.

I also calibrated both with Spyder3 and the ICC profiles are really close.

Ok...so I`ll have to wait until my order is delivered and see how it works for me. Thanks for your reply!

Honestly, its not worse than the E6400 at least the newer ones.
But I can't say its any better. I know that is vague, I have them sitting side by side and asked 3 or 4 people in my department, no one can see a difference.

Oh, I haven´t seen a E6400 for real yet. I only read some tests (and some mention the not-so-good blacks).

At the moment I`ve got a Inspiron 6400 (1501 in the US, I think) with a wsxga display which I like a lot. It`s to dark (and glare :/) and showing something on it to other people in a room with direkt sunlight is like going through hell – BUT its crisp sharp, wsxga on 15,4" is perfect, blacks are nice and viewing angles are – for a TN panel – ok.

My E6400's display (LG-Philips) is best used at about 75% brightness where the contrast is very good (and the brightness at least as good as most notebook screens). Full brightness is best reserved for working in the sunshine under which conditions the display is usable but it starts to wash out.

Thanks for the reviews so far!
I'd be interested in DPC latency values as there had been serious problems with older Latitude models. I'm dependent on low latency (using it for music on the stage, etc).
Could someone run the DPC latency checker tool here (no install necessary) and post your values or screenshots?

    http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

    Thanks in advance!
