afaik they're pretty much the same in speed; battery runtime and weight; it all comes down to preferences and price

there is no GMA 4500 in the new latitudes; it comes with the GMA HD graphics which is 3-4 times faster than GMA4500 (still extremely slow) and coming close to IGPs from AMD and Nvidia (about 80-90%)

it should be slightly faster than your 8400GS in DirectX based games and slower in OpgnGL games; but driver support is very weak and don't expect intel to patch its drivers quickly if you have some issues in an application

About the same dimensions, but seems like the E6410 is a bit lighter, no?

 

Look carefully:

No one gets the 4-cell as it;s provide nothing in battery life.
6 or 9-cell are the choices. I don't even think Dell really has a 4-cell for this laptop, unless you specifically ask... anyway that was the case for the E6400

 

I realize the battery sizes are different, but that shouldn't make up that difference, should it?

(Hence, why I was asking for weight including 9 cell battery earlier in the thread. )

 

If anyone has encountered a functioning E6400 at that weight them let them speak up.I wrote an annex to my E6400 review regarding the weight, but it never got published. Here it is:

The headline weight of the E6410 is the same as the E6400 and many components are interchangeable. I would therefore be sceptical about the true weight of the E6400 (with 6 cell battery and optical drive) being less than the weight of my E6400 (ie 5.1lbs).

The E6410 setup guide lists the following battery weights:

Perhaps someone can weigh their E6410 on some digital kitchen scales.

Anyone know the cheapest place to get a dock for the Latitude E6410? Is the E6400 dock compatible? Will I lose out on features if I use an E6400 dock?

John, I'm happy everytime I see your responses - they're all short, wise, straight to the point. This one was a little bit... disappointment in all this regards

To me it looks like Dell is rounding weights with precision 0,05 kg, which can easily make an error of 0,025 kg. Camera could be 0,01. Backlight keybord - well, LED (or whatever it is) could weight a bit, you could easily make error of 0,02 kg while assumpting it's weight. All together it's 0,055 kg.
What about HDD vs SSD - are they not in some kind of cage protecting them? SSD needs no protection, HDD is more fragile, could be some kind of "heavy" protection, can't be? All in all, to me it seems that your calculation could not be exact...

And, most of all - does 70 gramms really matters? Small piece of chocolate..
