Yes, but it may overheat under extreme loads using that smaller i3/i5 non-GPU heatsink. Even if you do not currently have the NVIDIA graphics option, the extra meat on the larger heatsink it a good idea when going with the i7

This is the proper one: New Genuine Dell Latitude E6410 CPU Heatsink KTPRC | eBay

For a few more $$ than what you are looking at, you can get a new bottom assembly for the E6410 and also enjoy the NVIDIA GPU chipset on the new motherboard. Look here: Genuine New Dell Latitude E6410 Laptop Motherboard Base NVIDIA Graphics YH39C | eBay

I'm seeing where the description is saying only i5 is supported with the motherboard. That is incorrect right? my i7 will work in this motherboard?

I just confirmed it will work – testing it with my i7 620M now. However, you must use the proper heat sink and thermal compound as these chips want to run warm.

I purchased this heatsink/fan: New Genuine Dell Latitude E6410 CPU Heatsink KTPRC | eBay

...and I used some Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound. The 620M is around 45-48C in idle and ranges in the mid/high 70C range under load. Likewise, the NVidia GPU averages around 55C when idle and high 60C range when under load. I suspect your numbers will be within a few C as well so you should be fine.

You probably forgot to connect the power button, or the plug for the AC to the motherboard.
Make sure that all ribbon cable and wires are connected and connected properly. Laptop small connector don't have a "good enough" room, if you get what I am saying. They need to be precisely and fully inserted in the port.

It's a ribbon cable attached to the palmrest, coming from the area around the right speaker.
