If it's a problem spanning that many devices, you probably will want to switch vendors for your network equipment...

    Hello,

Today I found out that my Dell E6410 doesn't detect dvd drive anymore, no drive in my computer and no device in device manager. Any idea?

    Thanks.

Could it be a driver or firmware issue? I'd check for updates at dell.com

I just recalled that I upgraded BIOS from A07 to A11 few days ago and I haven't used drive since that time. So maybe the updated bios messed something, but what could it mess. :(

Have you confirmed your BIOS media bay settings? You can try resetting the BIOS back to default settings, test it, and then reconfigure/save to your liking.

a10 and a11 has some un noticed bugs however i think your problem is related to your power profile. Dell extended power plan disables the drive to save power. You can switch to balanced or high power then reboot. The drive should be back.

Just bought a Samsung PM800 128gb SSD(SATA 2) and a harddrive caddy from ebay both totaling 150$. Friends please let me know if need to install any new drivers for this SSD and any compatibility issues anyone had so far. I am on A11 BIOS and does this SSD support Trim ? Any info will be appreciated

What is the model # and firmware version of the drive? PM800's work fine on the E6410, although it would be recommended to apply the latest firmware to the SSD. Not all versions of the PM800 support TRIM.

F/W version VBM1AH1Q does not support TRIM, and I don't think there is an firmware upgrade for it.

I would cancel the transaction (if it's not too late) or return it, especially since it's actually quite expensive for a PM800. You can get a PM810 (MZ7PA) for about $130.
