If it wiggles a lot, you might want to tighten the screws in that area and see if that helps. Regardless, the wiggling shouldn't affect the connection unless the jack is broken.

The controller is part of the drive.

I have been running a Samsung 470 (120 gig). I have had no reliability issues with it (using it since August).
I did a fresh install and left the old OS and installed programs on the old drive. I bought a caddy to put the old drive in the bay that the DVD drive is in. I use the old drive for storage.

You can save some money by purchasing a sata2 drive instead of a sata3 drive. Since the mobo only has sata2, the advantage of a sata3 drive is minimal, since it will likely bottleneck at the sata port.

    Hello,
I have just bought a Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD drive to use on my latitude E6410. Unfortunately I'm experiencing problems with it. When I use it in the internal SATA port it is not working properly. But if I use it on the ultrabay port, it just works fine. This is weird. Does anybody experience any similar problem?

I have also been experiencing issues when coming out of sleep mode. Here's the offending culprit. Still not clear on how to fix it and whether or not is an issue with Windows, Chipset, or BIOS. Any help would be appreciated.

Some info on how to read the above output

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559329(v=vs.85).aspx

Which leads me to believe I and others have a corrupt pci.sys or windows has an issue with E6410 hardware.

Unfortunately, SSDs with Sandforce controllers (like yours) have been notoriously unstable in our E6410s. Did you enable AHCI in the bios?

You need to install Dell ControlPoint System Manager. In the System and Devices Manager, you can increase the time-out period to 5 minutes (maximum).

Ok i've had my laptop for about 4 months now and I've got 2 REALLY annoying things that I hope the forum can solve.

    1. When using the track point I commonly hit the space bar to page down on a web page and move the mouse to what every I want to do next, for some reason you cant do 2 things at a time on this keyboard move the mouse while a key stroke. This is annoying, anyway fix this?

    2. The Nvidia driver crashing about 4 times a day is really getting on my nerves. any fix for that?

Shouldn't you be using the middle button to scroll down? Using the space bar is a strange way to do it...

Try the latest driver from Nvidia. I haven't had any problems with it.

Anybody know how many monitors will the E6420 support? Without access to the box, I believe it has a VGA port and HDMI on laptop but a DVI and VGA on dock? What will graphics card support?
