Uh, that's not enough capacity for a comfortable Windows 7 setup.

I still have 45 gigs to spare on my 160GB. Partitioned it into 3 partitions. I've lived quite fine on a 40GB HDD for a while so not really an issue with an SSD and an external hard drive.

Also it's a 16:9/16:10 problem, so I doubt they'd fit properly even if they were both 14" panels.

Mounting a 1680x1050 panel though, that would be sweet.

Agreed. 1400x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 should have been the options for the e6410.

I have 10 of these deployed at my office, and now need to deploy 2-3 more laptops. The dell outlet selection of the e6410 is getting slim, and I have heard the e6420 isn't very good. What other models should I look at? I need them to be dockable and able to use dual external monitors.

If you want to use your current docks they have to be E-series Dell laptops (and possibly Precisions).

The E6410 selection in the outlet is only going to get slimmer since no more are being built. I'd recommend checking with Dreamliner330 first, but it may also be worthwhile to consider the E6420 since you'll eventually have to move on.

1920x1200 in a 14.1" laptop? That's going to be extremely dense.

I'm looking at optimizing my battery life since school is starting soon, currently I can push 4 hours with my 6-cell (i5 + nvidia), is there any room for improvement while still being able to use the machine? Presumably the 9-cell I ordered will improve performance by 50%.

Also I'm looking at the 12-cell slice battery, it seems pretty expensive for what it is, but reviews of it are hard to find it seems. Anyone have it that can share their experience with using it (weight, bulk, effect on cooling, practicality).

Hopefully I won't normally need more than 4 hours (easy with 9-cell) regardless.
