RichTJ99 and BobXX, what method of payment did you use?

I called Dell to get an explanation for the delay and they couldn't give me any reason. The only thing the rep offered was to open a case and to make sure it ships by Friday.

I still don't understand why a refurbished unit would be "in production" stage. I doubt it is to recondition it and prepare it to be sold, like someone speculated, unless their quality control is just that bad... that they would list items for sale without looking it over first.

I used a mastercard. However, after looking at the tracking, while fedex now says it will be delivered tomorrow, all thats there is a tracking notification, not a pickup. I will let you know if I find out more information.

    I used Paypal.

Luckily, mine too has now been shipped and it is scheduled to arrive this Friday.

Still, the original delivery date was today, so I wonder what the reason for the delay was. (The estimated delayed delivery was the 21st)

Can anyone recommend a sleeve for the E4310 that has the extended 6-cell battery?

I think the 13" Dell OEM XPS case should work. I have several of those, and they work fine for E4300 (with 6-cell) and E6400, so the E4310 should be no problem.

The E4300 was knocked off of a 5' high shelf in the case, and the only damage to the system was a bit of paint loss on the corner of the system where it first hit the concrete floor, so I ended up getting two more as spare. :D
