You're not alone. I have exactly that combination of problems.

The battery life sound pretty impressive ~~. It is a steal if m8900 m6600 get 3 hour under light use.

Well, after testing things, i would say that it is more around 5 hours than 6, but if you limit the CPU state to lower clocks, lower the brightness to minimum and kill the lights, you should be able to get 6 hours.

Currently 23% battery remaining and Windows reports 1 hour 12 minutes remaining which makes 5 hours 20 minutes. GPU-Z doesn't detect the firepro properly so i can't really say anything about the GPU clocks on battery.

    Hey all,
I just got my M6700 laptop. Loving the speed so far but I am getting a 'posterization' effect on Full,sRGB,AdobeRGB...Kind of annoying.
I was wondering which drivers are the most 'optimal' as this time? FYI, I tried installing the latest Dell drivers (296.79, A00) to no avail...still getting the same thing...
Any ideas how to fix this please?

    Thank you!

That's good, but I'd prefer more real world results. Remember, the DVD movie test? I still rely on results like those because its most likely the most standardized of all tests. Either it can play the entire movie or it can't.

And despite the waning popularity with discs for many, my needs still heavily revolve around media and the disc will continue to be important to me for some time to come. Or at least until something comes along that can completely replace it.

Anyway, can you tell us at what screen brightness percentage you have reduced? Forty percent would be my absolute minimum usable level.

Alright, will run a DVD tonight to test battery life. To be honest, i didn't notice that the lcd was at low brightness, i'd say it's brighter than my G73's panel overall.

EDIT: Running it right now, back to full screen mode in 5 secs...

40 minutes until The Dark Knight ends. I got a screenshot of screen brightness and sound level when i started the movie. I will put that one along with a screenshot of when it ends including the estimated remaining battery life. The movie is 2:30 long by the way.

Ok, so after 2:25, the battery life indicator estimates about an hour and a half of battery left with the current usage. The battery is down to 38%, screenshots attached:

I ran the DVD in full screen mode for the length of the whole movie.

Patiently waiting for the touch screen version of the m6700, did anyone have experience with the touchscreen on the m6600? My question is, can you do photo editing with a stylus in photoshop on the touch screen. Is it as good as the cintiqs?
