Go to the website and they'll give you an authentication code. This is an old glitch that has existed for years.

BTW, if you're really intrepid and don't mind sending a bit more I recommend the full version Cyberlinks Power DVD10 or DVD12. These are the most advanced Blu-ray software you can buy. They will take your blu-ray experience for excellent to flabbergasting--not to mention play and enhance virtually any other A/V file you can feed it. That is, if you're a true blu-ray fan like I am.

Maybe it's just me but I seem to have nothing but trouble with PowerDVD+Blu-ray. I did get a copy of PowerDVD 12 and had some odd issues with it. Maybe Windows 8 is part of the issue.

A brief recount of my struggles.

Trying to play a Blu-ray copy of "Batman Begins" on my new Precision. PowerDVD 10 (had a previous license) looks a bit odd on Windows 8 so I buy an upgrade to PowerDVD 12.

Launch up PowerDVD 12 and it can play the movie. Cool.

Later update PowerDVD 12 to the latest version using the update on their site and it can't play the movie anymore. Hangs up at the menu.

Because I bought the upgrade version, reinstalling PowerDVD 12 without the update involves digging up the PowerDVD 10 installer so that the PowerDVD 12 installer can find something to upgrade. Confirm that PowerDVD 12 without the latest update can play the movie.

Moving on to "The Dark Knight." Can't get PowerDVD 12 to play the movie no matter what. Hangs up at the menu. I can play the movie if I open the video file directly off the disc, but then the subtitles don't work.

This is not new to PowerDVD 12. On my previous machine I had similar issues with PowerDVD 10. Sometimes it would just not work.

    Got a refund.

Tried Corel WinDVD which was able to play the movie but occasionally stutters — completely unacceptable on a Precision.

Ended up going with a piece of freeware I found called PotPlayer which doesn't support Blu-ray menus but otherwise works great.

I suspect your problem is one of compatibility not the program. I installed Power DVD 9 on my system less than a year after I bought it and then Power DVD 10 when it became available.

Both have worked flawlessly and without a single issue. Additionally, Power DVD 10 can not only play anything I throw at, but with maximum fidelity and resolution to boot. Power DVD is by far the best blu-ray software available. Settle for nothing less.

I can tell that you like the stay stat-of-the-art, but I suspect your problem may be with W8 compatibility? Nevertheless, the website says it guarantee compatibility so you may need to check back with them to investigate the problem. Good luck and don't forget to keep us informed.

I can get the exact same config for 4.500 but that's the price through our business channel which end users can't get.

I just did clean install on my M6600 and the DFEP is complete trash compare to the control point software...
    1. The OSD is huge and pop in dead center on your screen
    2. The OSD cannot be turn off or moved to other place like control point(well it can be moved, but it doesnt save the position,)
    3. Control point allow you to get some new FN +q/w/e/a/s/d key

Not sure if it is the same on a 6700 (but I think it probably is... correct me if I am wrong)
However with the DFEP, you get option in battery for express charge (it says charges 80% in an hour). The dell power plans probably can help squeeze some battery life. The fan control part is kind of moot though.

You don't need the DFEP for this; you can enable this option in the BIOS setup. (I guess maybe DFEP lets you change the charging mode without rebooting?)

Anyway, the express charge mode supposedly wears out your battery a little faster; I don't see any reason to turn it on unless you're in a situation where you really need a fast charge.

Oh, nice, the DFEP have option to put it in express charge/standard. So I was not sure. It come with it enabled so I disabled it, gonna check the bios.

Does any one know the make of the Bluetooth module and where it goes? I received my M6700 today and despite the sales rep insisting that it comes standard with bluetooth , mine does not have the bluetooth module installed. Not sure what they will do if I call in tomorrow, but just wondering if they don't figure something out than I could buy it from ebay and install it myself.

New NVIDIA notebook drivers, version 306.23.

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 306.23WHQL

The K5000M is not on the list of supported products on the site but it is listed in the INF.

I haven't tried to install yet.
