As mentioned in M6800 thread, I've done it in the M6700 and it works fine.

Done. But I don't notice it booting any faster, nor do I notice any other enhancements. Still, everything still works fine as far as I can tell, so whatever.

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased a refurbished m6700 off Ebay. The nice part is it's pristine, and I seriously don't think I would be able to tell difference between this and a brand new machine straight from manufacturing. The even nicer part was it was almost 'HALF' the price of the machine I priced directly off the Dell website. Exact same build...except this one has 16gb 1866mhz instead of 8gb 1600mhz ram.

My only concern is about the NBD warranty. The reseller of course assured me that the warranty is exactly the same as on a new laptop directly from Dell (NBD till Jan 2017), and provided me the info to transfer warranty and ownership through Dell's website, but I'm still a little skeptical. Anyone here have experience with buying refurbished? and can confirm that Dell views the warranty the same as a new machine purchased directly from them?

BIOS updated, everything working as it should. Also, new firepro drivers available on AMD's website for the M6000.

Once you transfer the warranty you should have the same service that you would have if you had bought a new system. Though you might not have "Pro support" if it wasn't originally purchased with the machine, not sure if its even available for refurbs. (Pro support lets you talk directly to local people who are generally more knowledgeable, instead of talking to someone in India first.)

    Hi,

seems that you are the only one having the U3214Q + M6700/Quadro in this thread.
I do have some questions about this combo:
I've read that the monitor doesn't have any upscaling functionality and therefore the upscaling has to be done in graphics card if you want full screen for lower resolutions. Is that true?
Does it accept 10bit colors. Does it really cover sRGB fully and AdobeRGB at 99%.

    More questions to come :)

In a few days I will make my first personal 4K experiences when the 4K projector arrives (important: 4k and not only UHD *fg*).

    Cheers,
    Alex

Since the update, I've had multiple instances where the system failed to sleep properly. (Screen would turn off but sleep mode wouldn't engage --- system still active. Had to hold the power button to shut it off.)

Going back to A11 to see if that's really the problem.

Tried putting mine to sleep a few times, worked just fine under Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8 Pro. Still haven't updated to 8.1 Pro yet. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a BIOS cause, it might have to do with hardware I do not have like the FP reader.
