Same here. I didn't turn anything off to update. The only gotchas I've run into for BIOS updates are ---

If using BitLocker to encrypt your drive, you'll be asked for your recovery key once after the BIOS update, be sure to have it handy.
If using Intel SRT (SSD cache drive for a HDD), disable it before the BIOS update. If you don't know what this is, you're most likely not using it.

You said it doesn't have the problem when Premier is uninstalled so possibly the color spaces are screwed up. You could try uninstalling Premier again (put Display in Full mode first), reboot then search for anything (folders/files) still left behind by Portrait Displays, PremierColor, DisplayTune. On our M6600's, Premier requires a minimum nVidia driver and BIOS version from Dell, which is why I sometimes get erratic behavior when trying a driver from nVidia site.

The only other alternative before replacing the GPU card would be after exhausting troubleshooting - reinstall Windows clean.

Forget you ever updated the bios and continue using the notebook like you would. That's pretty much how every BIOS update goes unless you were experiencing something truly broken. Most of the time, the updates are to fix edge cases, but sometimes there really is something broken. I'm looking at you Asus! So far, I haven't seen something as crazy as Fn + esc freezing the computer on my M6700 like I did on my G73.

Yeah when I uninstall premier its still there just not near as bad as before. Ill try what you mentioned above before getting them to replace things or me making a backup and trying a full wipe reinstall... Might partition the drive actually and install a fresh install there to test to be honest...

Not when they cause a deep freeze that only a hard reboot can solve. :p There was that and the CPU not clocking to full speed when switching from battery to AC power. Asus fixed that pretty quickly at least.

    Sargeant,,

Good luck with it. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by a clean install. Just a reminder . . . be sure to gather up all the drivers and stuff you'll need ahead.

If you get a chance, put your system specs in your signature (NBR UserCP/Edit Signature), I don't even know what OS you have.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi to everyone. I will be receiving my m6700 in next couple of days. :) I would like to add a Samsung 840 pro and a Plextor 128gb M5M mSata SSD. The default 320 gb 7200 rpm will be secondary HDD.
Do I need to purchase any extra hard drive enclosures or hdd bay for installation, or I can just swap in the ? mSata would directly go on the motherboard I guess.

    Thanks.
