On my 4 years old M6400, I've never taken the battery out and there's only about 10% wear on it. And this is with really using it on a daily basis in the last year as I moved where they have daily power cuts.

yeah using the original factory image installed, and yes I have the Covet and RGB display... Could there be a way I could tell if Dell didn't give me one even though it was listed on the order(as it should be since I have 17.3" UltraSharp FHD (1920x1080) PremierColor IPS RGB Anti-Glare, Premium Panel Guarantee,USH,MobilePrecisionM6700,Covet) on my order invoice... just maybe a way to double check???. I tried RGB, sRGB, FULL, Default,...all of them, and could see the ghosting/banding change how bad it was with each one of them... Whats weird is that looking at the pics I took now with premier color uninstalled, the ghosting doesn't show up in them even....

As for changing color spaces.... i have zero need to have 1 corner of the screen rgb, 1 corner full,.... as I had it set to all the same on the full screen and was only using different profiles for each application to see if that helped...

    EDIT:

Actually as I have checked again the issue is still there just not as present as before. See this side bar on the webpage where the image is all banded/ghosted... I really dont know what to call this effect that is going on here.

Can the Dell M6700 take full advantage of the XM CPUs? IE can you OC them in the BIOS?

My CPU is QM so locked but I can't see anything in the BIOS but would this change if I put in XM CPU?

No, there's no option to overclock the XM CPUs on the M4700/M6700.

You have the RGBLED. Premier doesn't run independently in each window, i.e., the screen sets to the color space defined by the window of the active application. The screen splitter icon can sometimes hang.
The only other thing I know is that factory images are not perfect. I strip mine off as soon as it arrives after verifying the machine can at least boot.

    ***Edit***

standard WLED screens don't have the RGB settings shown in your pics with premier running.

Also, Windows updates may or not have something to do with it and also the new ie10 browser may need to be put into compatibility mode for specific websites if you've updated that.

In other words there's a lot of things (software issues) it could be that should be checked before looking at the hardware.

Ive taken all windows updates here, and its not just websites its shown in the background wallpaper as well at times(esp when premier color app was installed and running) so it doesn't have anything to do with compatibility mode or the browser imho... Only thing it really could be is some setting I need to change from the default settings in the Nvidia control, or try different drivers for the K3000M(currently on the latest one on Dells site(311 i believe), and if not that then all I can think i possibly something going on in the cable/screen/graphics card...

Did you turn off secure boot or anything to update? I recall reading something like that.

I am running Win 8 UEFI and Secure Boot. No raid or anything like that.

    thanks
