Doesn't matter which driver I use, I have the same issue lagging, and packet loss. But when I got my notebook there was no such an issue stock Win 7, dell installed drivers.

Any idea what should I try?

Okay, I am overly cautious and I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise I don't much enjoy working "under the hood." Especially when I might break something too costly to replace.
I'm sorry but why do you suspect the card? Aren't there multiple reasons/causes for the symptoms you describe? Do you run any tests against other systems for responsiveness?

I don't know much about it so every time I inquire about this the answer is just that many people are accessing the system. Funny, since its slow on Saturday when nobody's around.

Anyway, my wireless networks are terrible so I don't rely on them for much of anything except for surfing. In addition, sometimes my ethernet slows to a crawl. I just consider it the nature of the beast. Also, its faster than on my HDX under every circumstance so I guess that should make me happy?

I guess the problem not the card itself, but the driver, or the OS (Win8). Just wanted to know anybody had a same experience. :) On Win 7, there is no such an issue. Maybe a driver problem, probably I will go to get some archive drivers from Intel, and lets see.

What about the constantly turning on-off fan? Is there any solution for that?

    Thank you! :)

For the fan behavior, you'll have to narrow it down to the CPU or gpu first. If it's the CPU, you can lower the maximum usage % in the power plan if you don't need the full performance, that should help with the temp spikes associated with short turbo bursts. If it's the GPU, again, you can try under clocking if performance isn't your aim. Make sure you can easily revert to full performance if you need it. There is also the crazy solution of repasting, but it's not for the faint of heart.

Yes, the drivers are available on Dell's site now, it works just like with Windows 7.

What kind of software can I use for narrowing? :) I don't know any of them. Actually the fan is not loud if it's constantly spinning at like 30% or 40%. It's not disturbing at all, but this spin off, and on thing is annoying. :(

I installed the Windows 8 drivers but didn't see that anything had changed....I've done something wrong obviously...:)

EDIT: It's saying I have no management application installed when trying to enroll fingerprints in Control Panel Win8.....can't find app under my service tag...any links?

    EDIT2: Nvm...I found the program off Authentec's site...it's working :) Still can't find it on Dell site...lol

You can use something like HWiNFO64 or HWMonitor, watch for what the temps are when the fan kicks in, either the CPU or GPU should hit a set temperature each time the fans kick in. For example, the fans kick in when my M6000 reach 60oC among other things.

Well to tell you the truth, one man's constant is another man's every thirty minutes or so. That's about the time mine cycles off/on and I have it on my "hottest" (test) surface.

Did you know you can change the fan's cycling rate (reduce the temperature) just buy changing the surface type or raising the rear of your machine? The SLICE battery does this nicely

As for surface types, laminate desks are the worse since they absorb and retain heat. I can literally feel the heat through the desk on my knee. Anyway, I thought I would mention it just in case you wanted to try the passive route first.
