That is something I have been wondering. The Covet didn't have any options. I like the Corning glass from the standpoint of being scratch resistant, but I am not a fan of high gloss screens. In some lighting conditions my MacBook Pro w/Retina is painful with it's high gloss whatever (supposedly just the LCD itself and no glass cover). Fortunately for me my rMBP and the new Covet are work tools - they will spend most of their useful life on client sites in data centers - not hanging at the beach or a park. As a side note, now that my Covet is on a FedEx truck it has my ORIGINAL ETA of tomorrow, August 31st. I will take some video or at least pics of the unboxing. Never done so before, so don't expect any academy award winning performances.

Since my Covet is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and I will be able to do some testing over the weekend if there is anyone that wants particular information or tests run, please let me know. Also, since i usually am not too concerned with benchmarks (as opposed to real world performance) please provide some instruction/utility names you want run. Here is what I am getting, note the additions on the end:

-- Ordered from Crucial and have on hand to upgrade:

2 x 500GB Crucial m4 SSD's - These are their faster ones and I plan to use in RAID 0 stripping for zero redundancy, maximum performance

256GB Crucial m4 mSATA 6Gb/s SSD - At this point I am not sure what configuration options are allowed. I want to boot from the RAID array and use this mini SSD as my "temp" disk for work files open. It is obviously slower than the array.

    32GB (8GBx4), 1600MHz 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-12800

Well, thanks for you SecretAsianMan to run those tests.

For me, Dell will replace mine... it'll take too much time to get the Heatsink (no spare stock for now, need about 1 month, maybe more, to get it).
So I wait my contact at dell to confirm that.

(PS: I'll post some pictures of the DS in the next minutes)

RAID 1 is basic mirroring (redundancy) so you mean RAID 0 for zero redundancy, maximum performance right?

As mentioned I have a 40% off Mystery Coupon, so it was actually only a couple hundred more than my rMBP. Not cheap by any measure, but remember this is a work tool for me. It would be nearly impossible to justify as a gamer or home machine. When you are running 3-4 virtual machines at once you need a beast like this. The "Covet" part was just because I thought it was cool...I admit.

Sorry - I know that, but had mistyped it...shouldn't be reading/posting on a forum during a con call, no matter how boring it is.
