If you installed the Dell ControlVault stuff, go to the biometrics section in the Windows 8 control panel and set it up there. After you register your fingerprints, click the "sign in options" at the lock/password screen and you'll be able to switch it over to using the fingerprint. (It will ask you to type your password the first time.) It's been working fine for me for about a week.

For the control vault stuff, do you mean the driver on the dell site? I have that installed. There is also an app called Control Vault WBF and looks like this:

    Control Vault WBF.JPG

I have not saved anything, just exited since I was not sure what it was. I assume it needs to be enabled.

Also, can you have it do both finger print and password so if for some reason the finger print stops working you can still use the password?

    thanks,

    Mike

Yes. There will be buttons on the login screen to switch between fingerprint and password.

Not good news as I hope to run unix/linux/ububtu in dual boot on my covet when it arrives.... Hopefully just a simple driver fix comes soon...

    Hi,
New here. Searched, but couldn't find anything. Has anyone had any trouble achieving a resolution higher than 1920x1080? I just got a Dell u2713hm monitor that is supposed to have a max resolution of 2560x1440. I have the k5000 video card in my m6700, and have verified that I have the latest (Dell approved) driver.
    Thanks!

How do you have the monitor connected? To get 2560x1440 you'll need to be using the DisplayPort (without a DVI adapter).

Really? You figure Dell would have included a DP cable then, rather than the DVI... I am connected with DVI.
