Don't think so, the GPU fan should be the same between the two of them (or at least, compatible). I've never heard of someone having to buy a new fan for the heatsink swap.

i bumped into another part number for another nvidia heatsink
    V1K7V
4 different heatsink part numbers (3) for nvidia and (1) for amd so far.
wonder why so many different nvidia ones.

think i will wait until the m2000m gets here before i order any nvidia heatsink and possibly fans.
i need to research more info on which part to get but if i can somehow make my amd gpu heatsink work with the nvidia m2000m i would love that.
i will probably take out my amd m5100 and compare it to the nvidia m2000m side by side on a flat surface and look at the difference in height and placement of the thermal pads and heatsink
thanks for you help and please comment more if it can help.
    thanks

No clue, I don't make the cards. They'll likely be available on ebay and taobao, when they do pop up (if they exist)

They however won't likely work with a M4800 as the BIOS doesn't like Pascal, and since they're so similar, I doubt Turing would work either.

could you be a little more detailed in this area?
Do you mean if i install the nvidia m2000m into the mxm slot and then try and resuse the amd m5100 heatsink that:
there will be too much contact with the gpu and when i screw it down it will apply too much pressure on gpu?
    or
when heatsink is screwed down there wont be enough pressure on the gpu because it wont make contact?
    thanks

the nvidia heatsink for the "m4800".
    quadro k2100m = FC16M
    quadro k1100m = CF7NG
    firepro m5100 = C7KH5
these all have one heatpipe that goto a dedicated fan.

could someone tell me what this heatsink is at "6:36"

that is a gpu heat pipe that goes to a left fan shared with the cpu and a right fan all on its own.

AMD GPU has a die with less height, so the heatsink has to have a larger height in that area to compensate. If you fully tighten the heatsink then it will press too hard on the card. If you do not fully tighten it then the contact with other components like the VRMs and RAM modules will not be optimal.

You might be able to make it work, but this can be resolved with a <$10 NVIDIA GPU heatsink from eBay. You don't have to get another fan. Any of the NVIDIA heatsinks on offer should be fine. All of the ones that I can find pictures of are mostly flat on the bottom so there shouldn't be any risk of part of the heatsink hitting a VRM which is a concern in the M6800 with certain heatsinks.

i just got this one off ebay
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/123057562668?ul_noapp=true
did you get to see the video?
at 6 minutes and 36 seconds there is a good picture of the gpu heatsink.
can you see that and also do you know what gpu that goes to with the dell m4800?
    thanks

goto 6 minutes and 33 seconds and start watching.
what Dell Precision M4800 does this go with?
    CPU+GPU+LCD?

is that even a Dell M4800?
    thanks

I would like to know because that looks like the best heat pipe design to get rid of thermal heat.
i wonder what that cpu is because my I7-4800MQ has its own heat pipe to that fan and is not shared (i believe)
i would like to get that heatsink instead of the one i ordered that is for the K2100

That's a M6700, not a M4800. It's a MXM 3.0b GPU so definitely not a 15" system. (I recognize it clearly, since I have a M6700 and I have been inside many times.) At around 6:50 he switches to a 15" system. You can see that the "socket" side of the GPU card is facing a different direction even though the position is similar.

i was hoping i would find someone who knew. i was suspecting it might not be a m4800 but i actually seen another "dell m4800 disassembly" video with that same heatsink in it.
ok cool and thanks for that info.

i should be able to remove the amd gpu and heatsink and leave the mxm connector empty and then i can reboot and run computer like normal and uninstall all amd gpu related stuff....while i wait for november 13th when the nvidia k2100 heat sink will come in mail?

i forgot to ask since nvidia gpu has 4GB memory will i need to provide thermal pads to the bottom side of the video card too?
