From the photo looks like the casing of current and next generation is the same (?), not sure if the new mainboard will fit in old case hehe.

No thunderbolt this year, too bad... same to HP series too.

I noticed HP's Elitebook 8470w (with Quadro K1000M/K2000M) is shipping the first week of July. Is it reasonable to expect more information about the M4700/M6700 models before that date? I'm currently looking at a Latitude E6430 but the extra GPU power of the M4700 is quite tempting...

No telling. Could be tomorrow or could be two months out. I think it is reasonable to assume that the M4700 will have those GPUs as choices, though.

Bummer, I really hope some information regarding the M4700's release date will be published or leaked soon.

Some pictures would also help ;). I wonder if they'll reuse the M4600's design. The Dell Lab blog from April mentioned a "silver color" for the M4700, which the current M4600 definitely hasn't. Of course they could simply change the color and keep the rest of the design. I hope not :).

Wish I knew if the new Quadros and Firepro's are compatible with the current gen.

A this point it would be nice if they even has some form of prep for it.

Nevertheless Thunderbolt is still relatively new although anyone that would pay the premium for it would likely be those same folks who would buy a workstation in the first place. Its absence will be noticed. And I wish I knew more about what graphic cards they will be using. As a video editor and graphics student, that will be my biggest deciding factor.
