If I had to bet I would say they'll be. But who knows, manufacturers always want you to buy the whole laptop instead of upgrading components, so the newer cards may not be recognised by the bios or something like that.

Indeed they do but it doesn't stop there as the card manufacturers and/or software developers do the same. Sadly, sometimes they're all in cahoots.

The absence of Thunderbolt will stop me from buying workstation for the coming series regardless of the brand.

Graphic card can be upgraded, no issue of bios recognize or not; but the issue of installation i.e. heatsink, obstacle. Dell will not sell you graphic card alone.

I do wish there is upgrade of dock station too, no USB 3.0 is really shameful. SPDIF would be a +.

For all you know, maybe Dell will launch the precision line with Haswell processor instead :D

I have a macbook and a bunch of thunderbolt connectors for TV and other devices but I never use them anyway, lol. I'd rather replace it with another USB3.0 port at this point. :)

K2000M is not that powerful compared to Quadro 2000M. still uses DDR3 so it's bottlenecked in games, and for professional applications even the old model may be more powerful due to different architecture (Fermi is more compute oriented and Kepler is more gaming oriented).
