Anyone here in the Asia-Pacific region who's managed to get one yet? I'm planning to buy an M3800 in Singapore next month because the VAT here in the UK is ridiculous. But the M3800 is not yet listed on Dell's Singapore site so I'm still wondering about the configuration options there.

I'd actually prefer just a 256GB SSD and a bigger battery instead of the extra hard drive. Anyone know if this option is configurable?

Is it possible to order a m3800 with integrated graphics only? I can't seem to tinker with any of the options. Do I need to open a business account with Dell to customize instead of choosing one of the four pre-configured models?

So far I haven't seen any mention of that spec or the "mSATA and smaller battery with an empty drive bay for my own device later". You either fill that 2.5" drive space with a drive or a larger battery, and so far the larger battery always comes with a 512GB mSATA unit. However, you may be able to call a Dell rep and order other configurations manually that way.

If not, your best bet would be to order the 256GB SSD + hybrid hard drive spec and just sell the latter or toss it into an external enclosure. I doubt that drive adds much to the cost anyway.

Not a well prepared start for Dells M3800.
Maybe it is better to wait some time until there are more customizing options and precise descriptions.
In Germany there are fewer customize options with Firefox than with Chrome. The view ist totally different, but with both there are no options
for built-in-parts like drives or batteries only for warranty, cables, etc.

Highly doubtful on the integrated graphics only option, even trying to go through other channels. That would run pretty contrary to the whole Precision line, and this system was pretty clearly designed to have dedicated graphics, in fact I'm betting the NVIDIA graphics circuitry is actually part of the motherboard rather than a separate card. As for customizing everything else, you could try calling Business Sales if you don't have an actual rep, but this model appears not to be terribly customizable online in any store, though I believe someone in this thread or the XPS 15 thread mentioned getting a 256GB mSATA SSD with no 2.5" drive (but WITH the drive sled and connector) by ordering over the phone.

I think they are at the same price, it's the final price after all kinds of discounts that counts.
For XPS 15 selling at 1999 euro, a 10% VIP coupon can be applied, resulting in 1800 euro.

With similar configuration, M3800 sells at 1799 euro and no more VIP coupon can be applied.

So, they are exactly at the same price.

At least in the US stores they have never been the same price, despite the several changes to pricing on the XPS 15 side already. Coupon availability will of course change things, but given all of the differences in the standard configuration I can't imagine they'd ever have identical baseline prices.

Hey drzac! Welcome to the forum!

As no Precision I can think of has ever been offered with integrated graphics only, I would say: No, it's not possible to order with integrated graphics only, and it's probably never going to happen...

Maybe an XPS or (likely) an Inspiron but not Precision... ;)

You cannot compare the price of XPS15 with 512GB mSATA + 91Wh battery with the price of a M3800 with 256GB mSATA and 500GB HDD with 61Wh battery, also the price of XPS15 is VAT included while M3800 is without VAT.
For example in Germany VAT is 19% this means that you have to add 341€ to the price of M3800, if you want compare the price in same condition.
