    Don't forget the TVA!
    The XPS is 1999 € with the T.V.A. but the M3800 is 1799 without TVA. In France the T.V.A is 19,6% so the M3800 cost 2151 €.

    Mac is correct. It's a poor comparison.
    It's the same in Norway.. And we have 25% VAT, so you have to add 25% to the prices I posted to get "real" price.. As this range is aimed towards professionals/companies, the VAT is deductible, so it is usually not mentioned. I suspect 90% of the customers for Precision are professionals and the laptop is purchased by the company, as a tool. For private customers this machine is VERY exclusive. ;)

    I don't see anywhere this was covered, though i may have missed it. I know the m3800 ships with 16GB, but can it be user upgraded further i.e 32GB? Thanks in advance

    It has 2 RAM slots. The largest RAM you can buy right now is 8Gb.

    Well that would make sense :p Well simple then, ask China to make us 16GB. Problem solved. Thanks Bokeh!

    According to ark.intel.com, that processor supports 32GB of RAM, but I don't think 16GB DIMMs exist yet. Sadly I can't find any info on the chipset's maximum RAM per DIMM support, which I know has been a snag for other laptop users in various models, but then again there are also stories of people using more RAM than is officially supported on other laptop models, like the Thunderbolt MacBook Pro and Lenovo T520, both of which claimed to have 8GB of RAM but ran just fine with 16. I guess we'll have to wait until 16GB DIMMs come out to know for sure.

    In the Owners Manual under Technical Specifications it lists:
    Table 9. Memory
    Type DDR3L
    Speed 1600 MHz
    2 SoDIMM Sockets
    Capacity = 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB
    Minimum Memory = 8 GB
    Maximum memory = 16 GB

    The Statement of Volatility also indicates the "System memory size will depend on SODIMM modules and must be between 8 GB and 16 GB."

    So I am not optimistic the ram will ever be upgradable beyond 16GB :(

    The Canadian Page currently says "Sorry, but this item is no longer available for purchase online. Please contact your sales representative for details on how to order." After jumping through the phone and chat hoops, Dell said they would call me so I can order the system.. It's been 5 hours.. No call. I will call them soon as I am getting impatient. This is rather frustrating blah.
