With less than two days left till the official launch day, any word on what configurations will be offered by Dell? Will it be fully customizable, or will Dell just offer 2-3 standard configurations, like the New XPS 15? I hope that the m3800 will be available in higher-end configurations, particularly on the storage side. Here are the three configurations I am hoping to see:

    1) RAID-0: 512GB mSATA SSD + 512GB 2.5" SSD
    2) 1.5 TB: bootable 512GB mSATA SSD + 1TB HDD
    3) 1.5 TB all SSD: 512GB mSATA SSD + 1TB SSD

Yes, I understand, I can upgrade it myself and it will be cheaper to do so. But for a business laptop I would prefer getting a fully configured, tested and supported configuration directly from Dell.

So, any rumors on what will be offered?

I would be surprised to see a 1tb SSD offered.

It would probably be a $1200 option for one thing, for another they don't offer a 1tb SSD on the other precision workstations that I can find,...

I for one would like to see an affordable SSD option (like 128 mSATA) with the QHD monitor. I'm up for a new laptop at work, but I'm worried that the low-end QHD version (if offered like the XPS) will be 256 or 512 GB (which, let's face it, is offered at a premium) and put the machine out of budget. I'm already 6 months overdue for a new PC (been pushing IT for an extension in anticipation of the M3800) . I'd hate to have to settle for FHD after all this waiting...

How do you get to this page??
Could you please click on "Customize and Buy" to see if you can change any hardware options?

The customize and buy links aren't functioning on these pages. Maybe they will as we get closer to launch?

    Same as the new XPS 15 9530: 6-cell 61Wh and 6-cell 91Wh
