Looks like the first review video of the new XPS 15 has been finally posted on youtube, however it is in german (Dell XPS 15 Haswell 9530 Unboxing [German] - YouTube). Bokeh, would you be willing to do a short review video after Thursday when the m3800 is officially launched? Also I wanted to thank you for all the info you already posted, you have definitely helped allow people to make an informed decision before they purchase. I am still curious why there haven't been any real reviews of at least the XPS 15. On a different note, is their any complaints you have after using the m3800 for a few weeks? Any issues with fit and finish, creaky parts, or issues with dell drivers/software. Thanks again for all the info!!!!

How much of your time on this laptop will be in Solidworks? I would say, if you work in CAD regularly, getting the quadro is the correct choice.

Though they're based on the same core, you can't really just look at the clockspeeds and say that the 750m is superior for a particular application. I haven't done CAD on a non-workstation card in a long time, but I'm currently on a K2000m (which should be slightly inferior to the K1100m) and it doesn't have any trouble with assemblies that have a couple hundred parts.

^This. If I remember correctly, the firmwares have very different targets between the Quadro and GeForce, and perform differently due to this reason mainly.

I mostly use my laptop for SolidWorks - I just got the M4800 with a K2100M, but I haven't really seen any issues with "gaming cards" in my old laptop or other machines I have worked with. I have actually had more trouble with the Quadro 3000FX we have in about 4 workstations at my office.

Get my XPS 15 tomorrow, I'll do a full review (though I don't have hardware to do screen testing, but I can at least do unboxing etc. I got the mid spec, but planning on swapping in an SSD I already have. I'm going to be installing Ubuntu on it, so software questions may not apply :)

Has anyone figured out if the M3800 has NFC? It's mentioned on the XPS 15 productage but I haven't seen any mention of it on the M3800 spec sheet.

Dell website no longer mentions November 14 as the release date. Instead it simply says "Coming soon"
I really hope this doesn't mean a production delay...

Here is a link still referencing Nov. 14 that a dell chat rep. sent me yesterday. Campaigns | Dell. So I guess Thursday is still the planned launch date.

The rep. also said the m3800 would come with a matte screen, so I would take the status of the previous link with a grain of salt.

Agent (JXXXXXXX): "But as what you said, the Precision has a matte finish and the XPS has a glossy one"

So if I need a computer for video editing and photo editing, (medium usage, editing music videos with many tracks), this is my pick?

If design, look, and weight is important to you, then yes. If not, there are many other cheaper options out there. Just saying. :)
