No reason why 4800 don't have Optimus? enduro is buggy with current driver is what I read.

I guess try hwinfo and see if it read the gpus?

Can't think of a reason why it wouldn't have Optimus. Support suggested that the CPU didn't include onboard graphics (wrong), the iGPU was not capable of the resolution (wrong), and couldn't come up with anything else.

On that system GPUz, hwinfo, and Device Manager all only showed dGPU. Intel drivers also would not install, so I think without another BIOS fix, its pretty much that for now.

mSATA card is attached with T5 torx? I presume any cheap T5 screwdriver would do the trick, no? Strange, the XPS 15 manual shows a phillips head screw in that spot.

Looks like you need the torx to remove the bottom cover itself.

Darn. I was hoping the ssd would be the Samsung 841. How's this lite-on one? Anyone know about it?

M3800 IGZO QHD+ quickly compared to the 2nd Gen rMBP15 display.

Thickness of the machine bodies is the same, but the M3800 (on the left) has slightly larger feet and sits higher. The rMBP15 will sit lower (almost flush) on a desk, but the M3800 may have better airflow.

I intentionally shot the screens directly reflecting bright halogen lights so that you can see the glare on each screen under extreme conditions. They are both about the same with normal glare. Will get some better pictures under normal working conditions.

Brightness is better on the M3800.
    The M3800 opens further.
Viewing angles are better at the extremes on the rMBP15.
Taking the brightness down on the M3800 to match the rMBP15, color and contrast were very similar.

Could you compare the power brick of the rMBP with the m3800's brick?

Yes. Both drives are in the 480mb/s range which means they are Sata3. HWInfo64 also shows them as Sata3.

    Thanks for the pictures =)

However, can you take one more picture of the two side by side just as you've done above, but this time let both display this page.
