A literal steal... (I have 5 years ProSupport Plus). I dare anybody build a similar desktop for a lot less than that :) Getting the i7-11800H would be the more sensible choice (price of $3,262), and at that price with the i7, you just aren't going to be able to build a comparable desktop for much, if at all, less. upload_2021-7-5_21-7-36.png upload_2021-7-5_21-7-36.png

I'm pretty sure @Aaron44126 previously said that the Dell memory modules support XMP, but only the very specific ones from Dell. Don't think there is a way to get XMP with non-Dell memory.

The current sale makes ProSupport Plus the same price as normal ProSupport :p

Weird, precision sale says pro plus at same price as pro support, but price goes up by $100 or so...

Four 7560 systems ordered 6/17, in production as of 7/4. (Maybe they will ship a little bit early after all.) It is normal for these systems to sit "in production" for a 2-3 weeks immediately after a new product launch. Dell does a bit more in-depth QC (so this is probably the best time to order a new system from that perspective).
We have previously observed Dell using XMP for high-speed modules. Also it is not the case that no non-Dell XMP modules can be used; we have observed third-party XMP modules working in previous systems. Support seems to be scattered though. There are no options in the BIOS that you can set with regards to memory. Sometimes the system will run at XMP speeds on third-party modules and the system will be unstable (periodic BSODs or maybe system lock-ups). I've seen one story where third-party high-speed memory was working fine but then stopped working fine after a BIOS update. For reasons like this, I recommend getting memory from Dell; or if you don't want to do that because of the cost, pick modules with the same speeds as the modules that Dell is shipping. If you want to "push the envelope" and get something a bit "better" than what Dell is offering, then just be aware that it might not work and then you'd have to return the modules.

USD!?!?!?!? $3000 USD seems very unlikely for my spec (unless you get a student or business discount)

Wow... I placed my order for a 7760 yesterday (around 12 hours ago), and it's already in production... really hoping they ship early since I don't want to be messing with RAM upgrades during school

The main reason I went with the Xeon and ECC is because it is highly recommended when running ZFS, my file system of choice under Linux.
