Driver issue solution to WIN 7 installation if you need to install/reinstall windows from a usb drive. Nice if you have a brand new hard drive. Good Dell after "2 weeks" :( realized this was an issue they had.

    http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN300564

Note: M2 disk driver also needs to be downloaded to see the disk in the setup, 2.5 disks will show up. Use dells image that they have in the support drivers download page.

    Sorry for any misspelling..

I'm going to give this a try. I haven't even had the laptop a week yet and I'm already contemplating sending it back because of the horrible operation of the dock. The video not on the external screen but on the laptop itself flickers every half minute or so.

Anyone else having issues when rebooting or powering on the 5510 when connected to the TB3 dock? The Dell logo sometimes show, but it hangs.

Got the driver installed as mentioned above, else the system froze when it was docked.

    Hi,

I have my 5510 on the way and I am going to order these 2666MHz ram sticks from amazon for a total of 32 gigabytes of 2666MHz memory. I was wondering if your attempt at upgrading to 2666Mhz memory went according to plan or not. If it did, did you upgrade it to 16 or 32 gigs?

    Thanks

I didn't install 2666Mhz ddr4, just tried to save some money. My build is in my signature.

I did notice your signature earlier but I was under the impression that you ordered the 2666Mhz sticks from Amazon based on your earlier post. Based on the spec sheet available on the dell website it seems that the motherboard will be supporting the 2666Mhz memory so I am tempted to go for it but not quite sure what the result will be!

Since I compared some results that 2666 would not get noticeable increase, I canceled the order.
16G was also enough for me, so I just added an 8G DDR4 2133MHz.
What I am interested is the plausible ECC supporting, I will wait for that and see if that worth a shoot.

5510 does not support ECC, machine will not boot with ECC RAM installed. (Already been tried earlier in this thread.)
