Hi John, I am not able to find the next version of the Dell Bios after 1.2.0, is there any website I can check out all the oldest version. I only could find 1.2.10 and I tried updating Bios but again same issue where SSD is not getting recognized. Thanks

Is this 5510 A07 01.02.00 BIOS the original? It was released in April. Then there's the 5510 A10 01.02.10 BIOS released in July.

Note that under the Important Information for the 5510 A10 01.02.10 is:
Please follow below steps after BIOS flash finished: (One time Job)
    1. Shut Down the system then press Power button again
    2. Press F2 to enter BIOS Setup menu
    3. Click the "Restore settings" in right bottom side
    4. Chose the BIOS Defaults then Click OK
    5. Click Yes to Load BIOS Default
    6. Click Exit in in right bottom side

This seems to be a one-off instruction for this particular BIOS which suggests something significant was changed and may the cause / answer to your problem.

After that is 5510 1.2.14 BIOS which lists the A10 under Previous Versions. After that it's not a very big jump to the latest BIOS.

I would like to add a PCIe SSD (Samsung 960 PRO Series - 512GB PCIe NVMe - M.2). Is it possible to obtain a thermal pad like the one Dell ships with configurations that include the PCIe SSD? The part is:
412-AAHG Thermal Pad for M.2 PCIE SSD

Or buy your own pad. You need 20mm wide, about 80mm (or more) long and either 1mm or 1.5mm thick (I'm not sure). The pad in my 5510 is quite soft material and is falling apart. It is nothing special and passes some heat from the SSD to the base of the computer so you don't need to buy a top quality pad.

    Hello M5510 owners,

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience hooking up an external graphics card solution to the M5510? So someone here would love to utilize the IGZO panel with an external graphics card solution. If nobody had tried it before, we can be the guinea pig. What are the options/choices?
