I just got a refurbished E4200. This is the best price I've seen when combined with a coupon.

From the spec sheet I see that there is RAM onboard, is it soldered? Does it mean I can only put another stick of RAM on this machine?

I'm a poor graduate student and Ive been debating for a long time to get an x200, e4200 or an e4300. Ive been monitoring the prices on these refurb machines (on lenovo and dell outlet) and finally I went with the e4200 today because the price simply cant be beat, plus with the 3 yr warranty that comes with it.

So yea, you are stuck with 3GB or 5GB of RAM. I was unable to find 4GB in 1 stick DDR3 RAM... but I am sure it will come out soon enough.

 

I received the replacement of my E4200, and decided to rub the painting on the old one, and see if they all come off. Here is a summary:

Only "EC" beside the Express Card stays, all other paintings came off

{right hand side}
Only the WiFi switch and the one next to it stayed, all other paintings came off
