    Just a quick heads up for anyone interested: Dell added some new united to the outlet - they were starting at 619$. Plus, there's a 15% off coupon floating around (expiring today) :)

    I hope you'll buy more RAM before you turn on your machine. Else, I think your excitement will quickly disappear :)

    Of course, I'll upgrade the ram myself (i hope there'll be a good sodimm deal with rebates soon)

    From the spec sheet I see that there is RAM onboard, is it soldered? Does it mean I can only put another stick of RAM on this machine?

    I'm a poor graduate student and Ive been debating for a long time to get an x200, e4200 or an e4300. Ive been monitoring the prices on these refurb machines (on lenovo and dell outlet) and finally I went with the e4200 today because the price simply cant be beat, plus with the 3 yr warranty that comes with it.

    YES, one is on board and the other is user accessible (ONLY ONE IS USER ACCESSIBLE). It looks like your out of luck.
    1.0GB, DDR3-1066 SDRAM, 1 GB DIMM integrated, so you can only use one. :(

    HERE is a GOOD DEAL http://cgi.ebay.com/MAJOR-2GB-DDR3-...yZ158898QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem :)

    I received the replacement of my E4200, and decided to rub the painting on the old one, and see if they all come off. Here is a summary:

    {left hand side}
    Only "EC" beside the Express Card stays, all other paintings came off

    {right hand side}
    Only the WiFi switch and the one next to it stayed, all other paintings came off

    $27.99 free shipping and quality brand too!
    (edit, this WAS cheaper, now you gotta pay for shipping...)

    btw, is it really impossible to replace the soldered-on 1gb of ram? desolder and resolder? lol.
