The XPS isn't the most durable. The build quality on the D series tends to be better... as is typical for any business notebook vs a home / multimedia notebook.

THis looks like a marriage between the 1330 and the D630.. that would be awesome.

It looks very nice... I like the direction they are going in...
I have to say I have found the build quality of the XPS M1530 very good. I have had no issues with the construction just the samsung lcd which has been replaced with the LG perfect!

Yep, Sorry I was really referring to the travel friendliness / ruggedness.. which the latitudes are really strong on.. The XPS is a great laptop didn't mean to say its not.

    I'm jealous :D - of a Dell!!
It just looks like the XPS series to me, similiar to what Dell did to the Vostro's from the Insprion's.

Offer the 13.3 with Ubuntu and I will have a tough choice to make.

How legit does this seem to those who've watched Dell for a while? Are such upcoming releases often "leaked' as a matter of course?

Yes, the Vostro 1200, Inspiron 1520, XPS M1210 & M1330 were all leaked well in advance of their actual announcement by Dell. This is 100% likely to be available by Montevina's release in May.

I would love to see these come out sooner with a Santa Rosa Penryn, but I suppose a May release date does make sense if they are putting Penryns in D630s--which came out last May, allowing for a reasonable one-year period in the product cycle.

fair to assume that these won't have any kind of dedicated video?

They will definitely have dedicated video option.. the D series offers dedicated as well.. May not be as powerful as the options on the consumer notebooks though.
