Just a note about SSD's...you'll want to upgrade to Windows 7 if you haven't already. Windows 7 has some features that will be better for SSDs (such as TRIM support).

I just bought one of these for my 12 year old brother, after owning a D620, and now and E6400 I believe this was the best option for him! I'll eventually upgrade him to an SSD - of course after I have. :p

Was only $200! :D Not bad IMO, considering I sold my D620 for only $170. I'm actually thinking of buying one!

Does the D630 support 3Gbps SATA or just 1.5Gbps SATA?

I was thinking of getting an Intel 320 but I want to know if the extra speed will be wasted, thanks.

It should be SATA-300. You can always move the SSD to your next computer though, so I wouldn't worry about it.

D630 being a GM/PM965 supports SATA 2, 3 Gbps speeds. The Intel 320 series doesn't saturate SATA 2 speeds, so you should be fine.

Hi, im thinking of getting a d630 over a hp 6910p for personal use, as i use them at work i find them very solid, 2.0ghz processor is able to manage light to medium use and has good support from Dell and this thread :D .

The one im using at work is on Windows 7 ultimate, but the screen resolution is 1280 x 800, has anybody found a way to use wxga+ 1440 x 900?

Im able to get 1400 x in XP but not W7, ive updated latest drivers by intel dated 23.9.09 ver 8.15.10.1930, but zilch.

    anybody using 1400 x resolution?

    thanks

EDIT : also how can you identify if the screen is a wxga or wxga+? thanks
