No problem, it took me a little while to figure out myself.

My D630 should arrive by the end of the month, the following:

    T7500, 2GB, 14,1" WXGA+, NVS 135M, 3945ABG, 120GB 7200rpm, XP Pro, 6Cell

    Some questions need answering :p
What battery life should I expect out of the 6Cell? Half-brightness, minimal power settings, web browsing and so on.
The 120GB 7200rpm drive is a Seagate ST9120823AS, right? I've heard complaints it being noisy? Current owners, what do you think?

siLc--I have a 9cell battery with the NVS 135m and am able to get about 5-6 hours with that. That's at a little above half brightness. I'd assume you'd be able to get 3-4 hours out of the six cell. Can't help on your HD question, as I have a different drive.

All in all I love my D630. Haven't had any problems with it--it really is a great laptop.

    Hope you enjoy yours!

Does anyone know if the D630 with the NVS135 graphics will support dual external monitors with the dell D-Dock?

Well, if you put your ear to right next to it then u can hear it making noises. Otherwise it's pretty silent.

Yes. One plugged to the DVI port, the other to the VGA, with the laptop monitor closed. As soon as you open the lid, one of them turns off. Can't remember which one.

Go D630! Like most on this thread have experienced, it is an awesome laptop.

    Regards,
    Paolo

Btw: Does every D630 come with two RAM slots? Even if ordered with just 1.0 GB Ram (1x1024)? One slot under the keyboard, the other one at the bottom side?

Or does 1x1024 mean just one slot?

Thanks for the feedback. Even if battery life leaves something to be desired, then one can always get the media bay battery. It goes for ~$150-220 USD around here.

It comes with 2 RAM slots. 1x1024 should mean one 1024MB stick installed (under the keyboard) and one slot free (on the bottom).

Oh, and about the Dell-branded nylon carrying case - is it worth the extra money spent compared to other similarly-priced Dicota/Caselogic etc. messenger bags?
