    It looks like you have the right chipset, but it's quite possible that the Precision 5510's physical external memory bus only supports connectivity for non-ECC RAM. For most applications, non-ECC RAM works really well--and is typically cheaper--although it would have been great to have this capability for the Xeon 5510s.

    I have had some fun gaming counter-strike for 10 hours, both for fun and testing.
    I've used Photoshop and other apps daily. Still haven't had any rendering to do in Premiere, so that part is still untestet.

    If anyone has their original memory sticks lying around and wants to sell them, shoot me a PM. I ordered mine with 8gb and am looking for an extra 8gb stick as I don't want to spend the money for 32gb at the moment. I will have mine delivered in about a week.

    That's what I did except I ordered a 8GB 2133 hynix DDR4 which exactly matched the original one.
