I've got the 3350 with i5 and 6490m and the fan is not running most of the time as long as your doing just office work or web-surfing. Even when watching SD video material (using the integrated intel gpu) the fan comes up once an hour for half a minute or so.

I have the same unit and would agree with the above. I use a cooler all the time, so don't notice it. Even while Gaming.

Hi all, I've read through all post, and even search the forum, why all the love to Vostro 3350, and I can't find love for Vostro 3450? Am I missing something here? I'm looking for a 14inch laptop and now dilemma on which to get V3350 or V3450...
I'm planning to get SSD as well for my OS, can I use the existing HDD come with the laptop as my 2nd drive, and where does it go into the laptop? I don't want external drive.
    Pls help..

    Thx..

My big problem with the 14" is that only the ram is user upgradable. You can't swap out the hdd or wireless card. The 3350 is much more friendly in that sense.

Has anyone tried switching keyboard from the previous Vostros? I really hate this glossy surface between keys :/.

Had the same problem. Installing these latest intel drivers for the 1030 fixed it.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...-N+1030&DownloadType=Software+Applicationseng

Read instructions before installing. There are two files. One file contains software+driver and the other one is the driver by itself. I installed the software too but the driver by itself should be fine. The software doesn't really seem to do anything. Let me know if it helps you out. Good luck.
