I guess the E2E as a special feature will be only available for the formerly "limited" covet version. :)

I've just spoken to a rep concerning the wait for my Covet. I essentially asked when the RGB Leds (non E2E) will be available in the UK. He answered that both E2E RBG LED with silver trim and Non E2E RGB led (ie not CCFL)were now available on the non-Covet versions (although this hasn't made it onto the website). He said that both these had similar lead times to the Covet screen, although it could be that he simple didn't want me to cancel my order.

One further thing he added was that the price difference between the E2E and non E2E RGB leds was only about £20. He couldn't confirm whether the non-E2E screens were matte or not, and will get back to me.

I'm still deciding whether to keep the Covet and go for a anti-glare filter if glossy bothers me, or cancel (and add another 2 month wait) and go for the matte (if available). At this point I think I'll probably stick with the Covet.

The Covet only has 1 display, RGBLED E2E.

    Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. So, Indeed the covet only comes in one flavour, but the Silver, non-Covet comes in different flavours. My post above was to point out the silver variants are now available in the UK, folks, but you may have to go through a rep, not order online.

I ordered today a E2E non covet version, but I prefer to say "silver covet" :D
The non E2E version is definately matte. They told me the E2E is 550€ (~690$) over the WXGA+ panel. After some discussions I got it for less, but even more than ~ 350$ :(

 550€ doesn't seem right to me? The Dell US are selling it from $299 (210€) from base model. Normally Dell just roughly mimics the dollar price for the Euro.

I believe they are talking about the E2E version, which Dell US does not yet offer. The $299 option is the regular RBGLED screen.

I calculated with 300€ for the E2E, but they told me it's 550€. Nevertheless at the end I payed around 320€ (~400$) so I think 300$/250€ is a good bet for the official price.

Still, surely both types of RGBLED screens should not cost much of a difference. As I mentioned, I was told they were £20 difference (about $30), certainly not $300

EDIT: However, once again this could be a rep looking to keep their commision up. We'll see for sure when it hits the UK website
