Replace E6400 Motherboard With Precision Motherboard

    No because I already had to when I upgraded to 64-bit and I don't want to again. Could changing it to ATA mode fix it?
    Linux Mint loads right but the login screen is glitchy and won't work with my info.

    Edit: Changing it to ATA mode makes it work but it took longer to get to the login screen than usual. Probably because it had to load new drivers.

    You didn't do fresh install with the new M2400 mobo installed?

    When you log in, windows will give you some kind of authentication issue. Because the OS should recognize that the installation was for E6400 specifically.
    At least what happened with swapping mobo from Precision T5400 with T7400. Learned it the hard way.

    It didn't give me any issues. It locked up and the resolution was really low then resized to max (I assume it was recognizing the new device) but then worked fine after. Now I'm just installing proper drivers. Once it's all done I'll restart and see if everything works properly.
