I dunno, never tested :) I'm sure the M4400 would blow it away, though.

Edit: and no, no LCD TV. She's usually up here watching stuff on the TV anyway. What I really need is a laptop-style all-in-one monitor/keyboard assembly for use with the desktop:)

haha i guess im lucky, my girlfriend likes watching me play games lol.

still think the M6400 might be a better fit for what you need, but the m4400 isnt a bad choice either.

havent tried crysis or any of the latest most demanding games on mine though. last game i played was medal of honor airborne.

couldnt run it at max settings with native WUXGA resolution. i had to turn down the res....

I play games in windowed mode anyway, so the card never has to drive the full 1920x1200.

But you're quite lucky, my wife hates computers and computer games completely.

this is somewhat off topic, but i think games are a fun couple activity. when im in malaysia (long distance is a pain lol) i always take my gf to this japanese restaurant, they serve great food and they also have console games there. so while waiting for the food we play that rally game, i forget its name now, on the PS2...and tekken lol.

also fun to play it after eating while having a bottle of sake.

i suppose PC games are less social...unless you have 2 pc's on an intranet or network

if you're playing at lower resolutions, i think you're gonna be fine with the M4400

we've had fun playing on a wii that a friend brought over, but neither of us are into the XBox or Playstation games, and she's not into PC games at all. Oh well, life goes on.

I just doublechecked the numbers wrt my return, and unless I get really lucky I think it's gonna have to be the M4400 anyway.

hopefully you get an m4400 that works. my replacement is gonna arrive "on or before the 12th" according to dell. fingers crossed i dont have the downclocking issue or any of the other silly issues that have been ruining my experience with such a nice piece of hardware.

I hear ya. I can be a real pain in the , though... if they're gonna warranty the system, I'm gonna make sure it works, refurb or not.

the thing is their solution if its not working is generally to change the motherboard. the palmrest is a snap on (you need to remove it for mobo change). once you remove it for the first time, it dosent ever seem to fit back on as perfectly as before :(

I see. Well, guess that's something I'll have to deal with if/when it happens.

QFT, I've tried, trust me. I can't imagine what kind of teamwork it takes to put these in at the factory.
