On the UK site the price diff is 144 GBP so about 300 US, but seeings as dell US is about 50% cheaper then perhaps the price diff will be 150 US or so.
Could be worth it seeings as its the thing you'll be staring at all day for who knows what part of your life.

I also ordered one today, due out on Oct 23 :( I've been trying to find a good gaming laptop for a long time... I did not want the off-brand Sager, and most others, like Dell XPS and Alien, use SLI which I did not want either.

    P8400 CPU (I might newegg it to a P9500)
    1440x900 screen
2GB RAM (I'll newegg it up to 8GB)
    Quadro FX3700!
80GB 5400 HD (I'm gonna newegg this also)
    Standard bluetooth
    DVD +/-RW
swipe fingerprint reader (BTW, what is the FICS reader?)
    64bit Vista ultimate
    dual AC adapters
    illuminated keyboard :) comes standard

I can't wait to get it...

I'm also interested in this M6400, but i'm doubtful because of the ocassional gaming session, anyone knows how the Quadro FX3700 performs with actual games (Crysis for example)...

No one knows for sure because they're not yet shipped, but given the specs, it will be the same as the top of the line 9800M GTX.

Edit: scratch that - FASTER than the 9800M GTX.

    9800M GTX - 112 cores - http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9800m_gtx.html
    3700M - 128 cores - http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_fx_3700_m_us.html

For comparison, the 8800M GTX has 96.

I'll be happy to let you know its 3dmark06 score on or around 10/23. :D (I expect it to be well over 10k, thats for sure)

Congrats!!! Let the waiting commence - hey we're one day closer :D

I will say this - have you priced DDR3 1066mhz RAM? I looked, and Dell's price was only marginally more than buying it at newegg.

Also, on these business models, to me, it doesn't make sense to save a few bucks via newegg.com upgrades, because these units all come with a 3 year warranty (and I get the complete care) so anything you upgrade is not covered by that warranty. Just my two cents!

Dell Germany has four displays listed. Someone mentioned the Edge-2-Edge would only be on the orange version but check this out:

17in Widescreen WUXGA (1920X1200) with E2E Silver LCD Panel (Camera and Microphone included) [zuzgl. 560,00 € oder 24 €/monat1]

Very interesting. U.S. still only has the to two basic displays available as of 10:40 eastern. No LED options yet.

If these things aren't shipping until the end of Oct., I think I'd be silly not to wait a couple weeks to see what happens to prices and features before ordering. Probably won't push back my order much more than they already are, if at all.
