    I have the same problem and fixed it the same way, but it still turns off every once in a while.

    I'm using Nvidia 5000M. It doesn't have such problems

    Hey, remdale and anyone else who may be interested, I have the Dell-proprietary nVIDIA 5000M plus heatsink, which I probably will never use, that I could sell, as per the final part of my sig below.

    Glad to hear this.
    But it seems to require large power, is the 210w power supply sufficient?

    I've run Prime95+Furmark and the load reached as high as 215W with my 210W power supply. And it was with the battery charged. So I would recommend you to go for a 240W one.

    I've done another test with a 240W power supply. The peak power consumption was 240W. So I guess it could be higher if I had a more powerful AC adapter.
