Can you see that green wire on the picture? It's VCCP that is needed for setting up the FSB frequency. For FSB1333 you can use PL3, PL2 or PL1 (on the CPU side just like on the picture) to connect with R391 on the opposite side to the north bridge. That's it.
If you need a picture I can post it later. Just let me know

I was wondering why M6400 doesn't allow us to boot from a HDD installed in the DVD bay. First off, the adapter that I'm using doesn't have the 8th pin (Device Presence pin) attached to ground with a resistor. It was left unconnected so I tried to fix that, but the laptop still didn't offer to boot from that HDD. So I can say that Dell doesn't allow us to boot from there at all unless it's a DVD drive.

My last mod in this year!

I've just modified the HDD bay. Now it can accept 3.5" drives by providing 12V power supply which I attached via an unused pin from the 12V voltage regulator that I connected to the HDD connector (as described earlier). I wouldn't recommend connecting a DVD drive in the bay after making the mod because that pin is intended for manufacturer diagnostics and who knows where it leads on DVD drives.
If you've got this HDD bay, you should remove the switch on it. Because it will short 12V to ground. In my case I left the body of the switch, but took the inside out to break the connection with ground.

There's a plenty of free space in the bay, so it can be used for whatever else thing you can do with it. I have an idea to put a couple more of USB ports or another SATA connector on the right to the existing one, but I would need more of free pins, otherwise I would need installing a new connector on the HDD bay.

I used a 30cm SATA extension cable and just cut the other part off.
It might be looking a little scary, but it works well. Hot swap is not working though. If you connect a 3.5" drive directly, the card reader, USB ports and audio output connector become inaccessible. Also, when using direct connection, putting something under HDD is highly recommended as the SATA port is located higher. You can also use an extension cable for convenience to solve this out. The bay is sitting well and the connector itself is perfectly fixed too. If I installed it deeper, it would be difficult to prevent the connector from moving when attaching/disconnecting HDD, as well as it wouldn't be possible to use direct connection.

I hope 2020 will bring more mods.
The other day I was thinking on increasing the amount of RAM on my Nvidia 5000M to up to 6GB:D
1600FSB mod and some other things are on the list as well.

    Happy New Year guys!

I just wanted to say when I work in FL Studio (a software for making music) with FSB overclocked to 1333, the minimum voltage for QX9300 should be 1.25v. Otherwise the program crashes.
Also, I want to share all schematics that I have regarding our platform.
The archive also includes graphics cards:
    FX2700 (G94)
    FX3700 (G92)
    FX2800 (N10E-GLM)
    FX3800 (N10E-GLM3)
    Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything for 5000M.

It's still a nice machine. Especially if you overclock it to FSB1333. I wish QX9300 could go beyond that.

    True

Except this bad GPU, I get a black screen after burn in test. Underclok solution to GPU 500Mhz / Mem 750 Mhz and problem solved.
I see your GPU is different version and more heat pipe, I have Rev.3A 01/09/12
